
Sexuality & Politics: Re-aligning the relationship
Journalist and gender & cultural activist Tracey Saunders will moderate a discussion with a distinguished panel on how gender and sexuality shape the world and influence every aspect of our lives. Nigerian writer Buki Papillon’s spellbinding debut novel, An Ordinary Wonder, is a powerful coming of age story of an intersex twin, Oto, who is forced to live as a boy despite their heartfelt belief that they are a girl. Uvile Ximba is a theatre-maker, writer and creative practitioner interested in gender and issues affecting black LGBTQIA+ women in South Africa. Sara Matchett and Alex Halligey are co-editors of the celebrated publication Collaborative Collaborations: Celebrating 21 years of The Mothertongue Project which reflects on how working with diverse artists their participatory, integrated arts methods have contributed to personal and collective dialogue and healing in South Africa.
