PHINDILE DLAMINI is a linguist, working mainly within African Languages, and has contributed in various fields within the language space; including translation, editing, publishing, material development and creative writing. She is a published author of more than 30 isiZulu children’s books, some of which are translated into English and isiXhosa. Her series of fifteen children’s books titled; UGwajo, published by Shuter and Shooter Publishers; is prescribed for the Foundation Phase in schools around South Africa. She has also written a book titled, ‘2010 Kwakunje!’ Although this book is targeted to the young, adults find it just as pleasurable as it evokes the excitement of 2010. Phindile Dlamini has just published her first scholarly book with the UKZN Press titled, ‘Avoiding Potholes in Translation – A Practical Perspective on Translation between English and IsiZulu’.
