CRYSTAL WARREN works at Amazwi South African Museum of Literature in Makhanda. She is manager of the Curatorial Division, with responsibility for the development and care of the museum’s collection and research functions. She produces an annual bibliography of South African literature in English published each year, which appears in the UK-based Journal of Commonwealth Literature.  Research interests include poetry, speculative fiction and contemporary literature, with a special interest in children’s literature, resulting in a number of published articles, conference papers and exhibitions.  Ms Warren is also a creative writer and has had work published in journals and anthologies, including Aerial, Stanzas, Kotaz and New Contrast, two poetry collections, Bodies of Glass (Aerial Publishing) and Predictive Text (Modjaji Books), and a picture book What’s in the Pot? (Book Dash). She has run writing workshops for adults, teenagers and children and is passionate about reading, writing, and promoting South African literature.
