Toni Morrison and/in Africa and its Diaspora

Marking the thirtieth anniversary of the Nobel Prize for Literature awarded to celebrated African American writer Toni Morrison, this session examines her continuing legacy to Africa and its diaspora. Focusing on the confluences between literary practice, the creative arts and scholarship in Morrison’s career, the speakers will explore her multifaceted historical and contemporary influence on authors, artists and thinkers, but also in critically shaping our global political narratives. Morrison’s work prompts the reimagining of our world.
