
Beyond the Literature Competition
Literature competitions & international literature festivals can be dynamic platforms for new writing talents and for opening new literature markets but competitions & festivals can also be challenging spaces to navigate. This panel session intends to explore how writers, curators and festival directors navigate these spaces. The panel will feature winner of the inaugural DALRO Can Themba Merit Award for Short Story Writing, Dionzo Kwinnika, multi-award winning Ivorian writer, Hilaire Kobena, winner of the South African National Literature Awards, Barry Gilder along with Director of the Bergen International Literature Festival, Teresa Grøtan, Time of the Writer Assistant Curator, Thalente Ndlovu and Poetry Africa assistant curator Andisa Mpisi.
