Opening Night

The curator of the 28th edition of Time of the Writer Festival, Shafinaaz Hassim, will present her curatorial statement about some of the key social and political issues that informed the framing of this year’s programme. A keynote address on the festival’s theme ‘Imagination, Freedom & Accountability’  will be delivered by academic and author Makhosazana Xaba. The evening will be rounded off with an In Conversation session with the festival’s Featured Author, John van de Ruit. The evening will also feature light entertainment. The host for the evening is Emerging Arts Manager at the Centre for Creative Arts, Nomthandazo Shandu.
