SUMMARY:Poetic Encounters in Reibeek Valley
DESCRIPTION:During November 2021, the Poetry Africa festival took four of South Africa’s leading spoken words —- Diana Ferrus, Lebo Mashile, Xabiso Villi and Thando Fuze –— on a Poetic Encounter to the small town of Riebeek Valley to engage with the town’s poets. The Poetic Encounter organised by the Centre for Creative Arts in partnership with the Royal Arts Town Amphitheatre was a dynamic exchange in skills-sharing workshops, dialogues and performances. The Royal Arts Town Amphitheatre (RATA) was the winner of the Poetry In Communities Award at the 25th edition of Poetry Africa in 2021. RATA also won the Business Arts South Africa award for bringing local communities and local businesses together to build a local arts economy. Poetic Encounters in Riebeek Valley was recorded and edited by S’bo Cele.\n
