Zukiswa Wanner is the author of 4 novels, three children’s books and two nonfiction books. Together with Elias Mutani and Renee Edwige Dro, they administered and edited the Goethe-Institut-funded Afro Young Adult project leading to three anthologies published in English, French and Kiswahili. She has published Kenya’s Mukoma wa Ngugi, Nokuthula Mazibuko Msimang from South Africa and Angola Yara Nakahanda Monteiro. She also funded and curated Artistic and Encounters and the virtual literary festival Afrolic Sans Frontieres which has since morphed into Virtually Yours. Wanner has facilitated writing Masterclasses for Femrite, Lolwe, Writers’ Inc (where she is also a partner) and the Caine Prize Workshop. The 2020 Goethe Medalist has been a juror for the Etisalat Prize for Literature, Commonwealth Prize and the inaugural Grand Pan African Prize for Literature. She was the 2021 Times of the Writer keynote speaker.
