Dr Sylvia Zulu is a Senior Lecturer and a Head of Department for Media, Language and Communication at the Durban University of technology. She is a professional translator and has translated various books into isiZulu, namely, Exploring the History of Ukhahlamba Mountains by John Wright and Aron Mazel, Zola by Mark Lewis and Tanya Zack, Her Story: Daughters of Modjadji by Thandiwe Matthews, Dear Girl-Child by Carol Nkambule, to name a few. Her research interests are in Linguistics and Translation & Interpreting. She has successfully supervised several B.Techs , Masters’ and one Post-Doc Fellow.
