Makhosazana Xaba is an award-winning multi-genre anthologist and short story writer who has also published four poetry collections. In 2021 she was appointed Associate Professor of Practice at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Johannesburg based at the Centre for Race, Gender and Class. She has pioneered research and writerly activism on Helen Nontando Jabavu (Noni) for almost two decades, thus reigniting awareness and interest in Noni’s writings and life. She holds an MA in Creative Writing (with distinction) from Wits University.
