Lebohang Masango earned her Master of Arts degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Witwatersrand. She is a multi-award-winning author and poet. Her children’s books include Mpumi’s Magic Beads, Mpumi and Jabu’s Magical Day! (co-authored with Prof. Claudine Storbeck), What Does Mpumi Wear?, and What Does Mpumi Eat? (David Philip) and Grow to be Great: Awesome African Achievers (Sifiso Publishers) co-authored with Dr Judy Dlamini. These titles are available in all 11 official South African languages to ensure that every child has access to South African stories. Her latest offering is a non-fiction book that is based on her Master’s thesis titled, The Soft Life: Love, choice and modern dating (Tafelberg). Her poem, ‘Ten Thousand Stories’ features in MultiChoice’s ‘Most Loved Storyteller’ campaign and has won two prestigious advertising awards. She is an inaugural Zanele Mbeki Fellow in feminist leadership and a current PhD candidate in Social Anthropology.
