Aretha Phiri is a member of the Department of Literary Studies in English at Rhodes University. Interested in Toni Morrison’s continued relevance to South Africa, she has published widely on the author’s work, with her most recent contribution to the BBC World Service’s flagship discussion programme, The Forum.
