Andrew-John Bethke is a senior lecturer in the Discipline of Music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His research focuses on colonial and mission hymns in the Christian tradition in South Africa, and also on music theory pedagogy using South African local music as a catalyst for knowledge transfer.
