Alex Halligey is a theatre maker and scholar whose primary research is in using theatre and performance as tools and conceptual lenses for exploring relationships between and space. She has a PhD in Drama and Urban Studies and is currently a postdoctoral fellow with the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Johannesburg. 2021 saw the publication of Collaborative Conversations, a volume of critically engaged writing she co-edited with Sara Matchett on women-lead theatre and performance organisation,  ‘The Mothertongue  Project’. Alongside her scholarly and artistic career, she practises as an Alexandra Technique teacher.
