Kirsten Miller’s first novel, All Is Fish (Jacana 2007), was shortlisted for the Jacana/EU Literary Award. In 2014, she published Sister Moon (Umuzi), and in 2018 The Hum of the Sun (Kwela) followed, which won the 2019 Minara / Aziz Hassim Literary Award. The unpublished manuscript of The Hum of the Sun won the inaugural Wilbur and Niso Smith Foundation Prize. After publication, it was shortlisted for the Herman Charles Bosman Prize and longlisted for the prestigious International Dublin Literary Award. All That Is Left is her fourth novel. The unpublished manuscript won the 2018 Aziz Hassim Literary Award in 2018. Kirsten Miller has also published a non-fiction book, titled Children on the Bridge (Jacana 2006), about her early experiences working in the field of autism. She lives in Durban and is the director of Action in Autism.
